Alumna Maria Mannone Gives Lecture at Music Conservatory of Palermo

Maria Mannone (PhD, 2017, composition, student of Alex Lubet) gave an invited lecture followed by a workshop at the Music Conservatory of Palermo, Italy on December 20, 2017. She showed conducting and composition students some concepts of her theory between math and the arts, giving examples of musical analysis in the perspective of orchestral conducting. The lecture was followed by open-ended questions and exercises for the students, who analyzed their musical knowledge and conducting experience within a categorical framework.
