Former Student Emine Pinar Başgöze Receives 2018 MacPhail Artist Development Grant

Emine Pinar Başgöze (2000-2002, piano, student of Paul Shaw) and Susana Pinto, members of the Başgöze-Pinto Piano Duo, are the recipients of the 2018 MacPhail Artist Development Grant, funded by the McKnight Foundation.

In anticipation of their forthcoming compact disc, which will include works inspired by folk songs and traditional music of Portugal and Turkey, three of which were composed specifically for them, the Başgöze-Pinto Piano Duo performed their award-winning program in a recital at the MacPhail Center for Music’s Antonello Hall on June 21, 2018.
