Professor Sally O'Reilly's Students Win Competitions

Violin students of Sally O’Reilly (violin) were winners of many prizes in the Schubert Club and Thursday Musical Competitions held on February 26 and March 3 respectively.

Schubert Club winners included Bravo! Alumni James Thompson (1st Place, Junior Division), Katia Tesarczyk (2nd Place, Senior Division), and Sedra Bistodeau (1st Place, College Division). Sofia Schutte, sophomore violin performance major, won 2nd Place in the College Division.

In Thursday Musical, James Thompson, Katia Tesarczyk, and Sofia Schutte won First Prizes in all three divisions. They will perform in the winners recital on April 19, 2018 at McPhail Center for Music. Mary Alice Hutton and Joyce Zhao won 2nd Prizes in the College and Senior High Divisions, and Jennifer Lee received Honorable Mention in the Junior High Division.

On Sunday, March 4, 2018 Bravo! Alum Catherine Carson won First Place in the Rochester Music Guild’s High School Strings Competition.
