Professor Sumanth Gopinath Receives U of M Grand Challenges Research Award
Sumanth Gopinath (music theory) has received a U of M Grand Challenges Research award. He is part of the six-member Just & Equitable Communities Collaborative (2018-19).
Five University programs (along with the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost) will support the work of the Grand Challenges Research Scholar Collaboratives: Global Programs and Strategy Alliance, Institute for Advanced Study, Institute on the Environment, Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of Global Change, and the Office for Public Engagement.
All the scholars in each collaborative will contribute to a comprehensive approach to each interdisciplinary area of focus. Some members also have Community-Engaged Scholar or Global Scholar designations, emphasizing work in partnership with external partners locally and globally.
