The School of Music hosts the MMEA All-State Band and Jazz Band Camp
The University of Minnesota School of Music will host nearly 200 of Minnesota's finest musicians as part of the MMEA All-State Band and Jazz Band Camp from August 5 to August 10. This rigorous, audition-based festival is a weeklong celebration of music recognizing Minnesota's most accomplished high school musicians who have the opportunity to work with internationally-recognized conductors and educators — including Emily Threinen, Director of Bands at the University of Minnesota — through a series of rehearsals, sectionals, master classes, and social events.
In conjunction with the All-State Orchestra Camp at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and the All-State Choir Camp at St. Olaf College, the Minnesota All-State program is one of the most unique All-State music programs in the nation, with nearly 50 professional educators supporting the program as dedicated section coaches and camp administrators throughout the week.
A final concert will open to the public and free of charge on Saturday, August 10 in Ted Mann Concert Hall at 11:00 am. For more information visit https://mmea.org/events/all-state/all-state-camps/band/.
