Student Jay Afrisando's Music Performed as Part of Convergence Series at Studio Z
Jay Afrisando's (MA, composition, student of Alex Lubet) music will be performed as part of the Convergence Series at Studio Z (274 East Fourth Street, St. Paul) on Saturday, September 9 at 7:30 pm. Convergence is a series of compositions by Jay Afrisando for several Javanese gamelan instruments, electronic, a quinto, a tenor sax, and a bassoon. Featuring Lars Christensen (PhD, musicology; MA, 2010, musicology), Daniel Furuta, William Heinze (PhD, composition), Stephen May, and Casey Palbicki (PhD, composition), this performance is supported in part by the American Composers Forum through the 2016 Minnesota Emerging Composer Award funded by the Jerome Foundation.
