U of M School of Music Faculty Cohosts Second Music Education Forum on Jamaica's National Curriculum of Music

From October 17-20, 2018, University of Minnesota School of Music Professors Paul Shaw, Scott Currie, Akosua Addo, and Professor Emeritus Alan Kagan, as well as Catherine Schmidt (Winona State University), Jill Wilson (Luther College), Catharine Bushman (St. Cloud State University), and Wayland Richards (Executive Director of the Organization for Strategy Development in Jamaica) held the second forum on the National Curriculum of Music in Jamaica. From Jamaica were Andre’ Adman (Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts), Everton Clarke (Church Teachers’ College), Janett Ismay-Kerr (Mico University College), Marlon M. Williams (Ministry of Education, Youth and Information), Matthew Silpot (Mico University College), and Lorna Thompson (Ministry of Education, Youth and Information). Serenade for Haiti, a film that probes how generations maintain and pass down the musical legacy of Haiti, was screened during the forum.
