UMN Music Education at MTNA National Conference
School of Music faculty and doctoral students of the music education program presented their original research projects in multiple sessions at the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) national conference from March 17–18, held at the Hilton Minneapolis.
Catherine Grimm (third year PhD student) presented "The Collaborative Ensemble Choral Model for Mental Health in Adolescent Females." Zaiyang Xu (second year PhD student) presented "Conformity, Loss, Guidance, and Relief: What do Chinese Adolescents Derive from Music? A Literature Review." Dr. Danni Gilbert (Assistant Professor of Instrumental Music Education) presented "A Comparison of Self-Reported Anxiety and Depression Among Music Majors and Non-Music Majors: A Current Perspective."
