About the Teachers
For this class, Immanuel is joined by Christina Smith, principal flutist of the Atlanta Symphony and Catherine Ramierz, flutist and artist-in-residence at St. Olaf. Together, they will be conducting daily performance master classes and giving private lessons throughout the week.
In addition to the flute classes, there will be private Alexander Technique lessons and master classes in using AT for performance to help musicians reach their full potential as players: the technique can help people overcome stage-fright, improve breathing, increase awareness in activity, which allows for better ensemble playing, and help get rid of excess tension, which ultimately allows for freer playing and self-expression.
There will be a pianist for the performance master classes, so please bring your scores.
