3M Art and Technology Award
The Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) and 3M are collaborating once again to ask for unique inventions from those working in the field of technology and art to augment and personalize a visitors experience, for the 2017 3M Art and Technology Award. This one-of-a-kind competition looks at how technology, design, and expertise come together to enrich arts and culture. The award launched in 2015 with winners like 2015's winner "Overheard," designed by Luxloop and 2016's winner the "Diving Rod," created by Molly Reichert and Ben Arcand.
The winners are awarded $50,000 in prize money! Winners will be selected by a panel of technology experts and digital designers. The development process will be documented along the way, ahead of launch of the winning device in spring 2018.
On November 16, there will be an oppurtunity to talk through your ideas and learn more about the contest at the Minneapolis Institute of Art in the Friends Community Room from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. RSVP before it is too late!
The deadline for submitting your work to the 3M Art and Technology Award is December 1, 2017.
