Barbara E. Burwell
Barbara Burwell won the title of Miss Minnesota in 1976 and and was later crowned Miss USA, becoming the first Miss USA from Minnesota in the history of the pageant. She earned a degree in speech communication from CLA and pursued a career in public relations. Her extensive travel experience and outstanding public speaking skills helped her in the leadership of her family’s company, Burwell Enterprises. She is a committed philanthropist, supporting a wide range of organizations from the Minneapolis Children’s Theatre Company to the American Lung Association, where she was named national volunteer of the year.
