A senior management analyst with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, James Baltazar is a creative problem-solver. During a graduate school internship, he brought Fallon, Nevada Paiute-Shoshone tribal leaders, and non-reservation stakeholders together around fair and effective water usage, increasing tribal revenue and improving greater community relations. He was chosen for HUD’s Presidential Management Fellowship, where he served the US State Department in Ireland and spearheaded new uses of technology to improve HUD’s customer service. In his current role, he improves access for small, as well as minority, female, and military veteran-owned contracting firms to bid on projects.
