“It raised my interest in this realm, so I might take some courses in the next couple of semesters”

Getting Here

The internship program of ICBC is not facing the public so it doesn't have an application process to get in. I got in because I was recommended by a friend of my dad who is the secretary of the board of trustees in ICBC's head office.

The Work

I was working in the Credit Department of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China - New York Branch, which is located on Broadway just beside Times Square. It was my honor to have this opportunity to work at the biggest bank in the world. I've never learned anything related to the banking industry before, but now I'm familiar with, at least for the credit department, the bank's working process. It raised my interest in this realm, so I might take some courses in the next couple of semesters related to banking. Although I'm still exploring different kinds of financial institutes, the banking industry would definitely be one of my choices..

Tip for Success
  1. Be mentally prepared to face something that you've never met or learned. Be brave and confident.
