Celebrating 150 Years of CLA Excellence

This sesquicentennial will be about honoring our legacy while planning for the future—and I’m happy to report that we are on good footing as we do so. We've exceeded our admissions targets for the third year running. The proportion of our students who are students of color, first‑generation students, students who are Pell eligible, all of those are going up. We’ve had a great deal of success with award‑winning among our students, faculty, and staff. And we had a terrific year of fundraising toward our capital campaign, Shattering Expectations.

You can learn more about the accomplishments of the past academic year, as well as some planning for the future, in my annual State of the College Address. You can view it as a video (segmented into topics) or read the text. For a more detailed listing of 2017-18 achievement, you can also view the Roadmap Report

Your support and engagement with and on behalf of CLA and the U help make what we do possible. By sharing your own experiences as alumni and leaders in the community, you inspire the next generation of CLA students to aim high, and you push us to work harder so that CLA’s next 150 years will be that much brighter.

I hope you’ll join us in this year of celebration. If it’s been a while, come to campus, attend an event, or connect with some new Gophers at a tailgate. We will be celebrating the 150th anniversary all year long; check out our calendar of events for a complete listing of the events we’ll be hosting.

I hope to see you soon. Ski-U-Mah!
