Celebrating 150 Years of International Students at CLA
CLA was home to the first international student at the University of Minnesota in 1874, 150 years ago. His name was Andrew Russell Cass, and he graduated with a bachelor of arts in the College of Science, Literature and the Arts in 1875 (now known as the College of Liberal Arts). In the 150 years since Cass’ enrollment, the University has furthered resources and outreach for international students. Today, we celebrate the tradition and impact of our global scholars.
