Student Spotlight: Faraday Quioh

Faraday Quioh is a transfer student in his first year at the University of Minnesota, majoring in political science and African American studies. Read his Student Spotlight Q&A to learn more about him and his experiences as a returning student.

Why did you choose to major in political science?

Leadership.

What has been your favorite political science course at UMN?

POL 3766: Political Psychology of Mass Behavior.

What communities do you belong to? How has this made your experience as a student unique?

As a transfer and returning student, it's an amazing experience to be here with other students from diverse backgrounds. The shared value, among other things, is fascinating.

What is your favorite part of the political science department?

The Undergraduate Political Science Association (UPSA) student group.

What do you hope to do after graduation?

I have decided to work within the public sector.

What advice would you give to prospective political science students?

Be passionate about what you do.
