Polarization and the Information Environment

The Center for the Study of Political Psychology (CSPP) and the American Politics Colloquium invite undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and staff from the UMN to our spring symposium titled "Polarization and the Information Environment" from 9am-5pm on March 20th, 2020. The symposium will feature four prominent scholars in Political Science who may be of interest to students and faculty in Psychology, Sociology, Law, Communications, Journalism, and Public Affairs.

Brandon Bartels is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the George Washington University. His research and teaching interests center on U.S. politics, judicial politics, the U.S. Supreme Court, public perceptions of law and courts, and institutional legitimacy.

J. Celeste Lay is an associate professor in the department of political science at Tulane Univeristy. Her research focuses on American political behavior, political socialization, and education policy.

Yphtach Lelkes is an Assistant Professor at the Annenberg School for Communication. His main focus is on the role of the political information environment in structuring attitudes, with a special interest in the proliferation of digital media.

Yanna Krupnikov is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Stony Brook University. Her research focus is political psychology, political communication, political persuasion, political behavior, and empirical methodology.

Bartels and Lay present in the morning. Lelkes and Krupnikov present in the afternoon. Lunch will be served. Guests are not required to stay all day but please fill out this RSVP form if you are planning to attend. Lunch will be served.
