Call for Research Workshop Proposals

The Center for Premodern Studies is now accepting proposals for new and existing Research Workshops. The application deadline is October 3, 2025. We're looking for proposals that align with the current research interests of faculty, students, and staff and support collaborative work. Some of our past and existing workshops include the First Millennium Religion in Late Antiquity Workshop, the Premodern Food Studies Group, and Uncommon Bodies. These groups bring together scholars at all levels to explore research and ideas.

About the Opportunity

The Center is committed to aligning our resources, such as staff support and invitations to present in our lecture series for the 2026-2027 academic year, with active research and teaching interests in aspects of premodern histories and culture. While this call for proposals is an important opportunity, it does not indicate an abundance of available funds. Selected groups can count on modest funding to help foster conversations among scholars on campus and their collaborators.

Funding Period: January 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027

Application Deadline: October 3, 2025
