The Center for Premodern Studies is Hiring a Communications RA
The Center for Premodern Studies is hiring a 25%-time Graduate Assistant for Academic Year 2021-2022 to support Center communications, outreach, and advancement projects.
-Candidates must hold ABD status and qualify for the lower (post-thesis credits) tuition rate.
-Candidates from any department are eligible to apply.
-Managing CPS social media accounts (Twitter and Facebook) including editing material to be posted, developing new content, commenting on posts, building an audience, and collaborating with Center RAs to create communication plans around events.
-Coordinating with Center leadership to develop a long-term strategy for sustainable content development and the monitoring of communication platforms.
-Developing longer format news articles and conducting interviews about Center activities and initiatives for the website and other platforms.
-Creating materials for fundraising and development campaigns in collaboration with Center leadership and Office of Institutional Advancement staff.
-Preparing content and layout for the new CPS website and potentially special project Google sites in collaboration with others.
-Developing content for grants focused on fundraising priorities and outreach in collaboration with others.
Much of the work of this position will be able to be done remotely and independently. In-person engagement is expected for some aspects of this role including working through projects involving complex collaboration and participating in certain meetings.There will be weekly check-ins with the Associate Director of the Center for Premodern Studies which could be conducted virtually or in-person.
-Experience with managing and developing content for social media platforms and websites
-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
-Experience writing about scholarly topics for public audiences
-Ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively as part of a team
-Ability to work reliability and independently to advance projects
-Active engagement with the Center for Premodern Studies and its community
-Experience working with grants, alumni engagement, and/or institutional advancement
