Erin Standen Wins Innovative APA Grant

Erin Standen, a social psychology graduate student, has won the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students’ Psychological Science Research Grant. Standen’s research, Optimizing Calorie-Tracking Applications: Implications for behavioral and psychological health, will benefit from the $1,000 award.

Standen has previously published papers related to the health psychology of eating and weight stigma,  including Teaching the Self-Regulation of Eating and Body mass index and educational inequality: An update of Crandall (1999). This grant will help move forward her current research, which is advised by Alex Rothman, PhD, and Traci Mann, PhD.  As a graduate student, Standen focuses on eating behaviors, weight stigma, and calorie restriction.
