Countdown to Spring 2026 Registration - 2 Weeks Out

We are about two weeks out from Spring registration! At this point, you have received your registration time and can check your registration time on your MyU accountAppointments are currently available to meet with a Psych Advisor. We recommend scheduling sooner rather than later if you would like to meet with Psych Advising because our office can become very busy once registration starts!

Graduate School Planning Workshop

DeGAP - Demystifying Graduate Admissions in Psychology - Save the Date!

Mark your calendars, the 2026 Demystifying Graduate Admissions in Psychology (De-GAP) program will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. Building on the foundation of the Diversity in Psychology Program, De-GAP 2026 is a rebranded virtual learning experience to provide an inclusive and accessible program that reaches more individuals in our target audience. Programming will include a coordinated set of online resources and pre-event learning exercises, faculty mentorship opportunities, and interactive Zoom sessions that introduce De-GAP participants to the Tri-Psychology graduate programs, reduce the hidden curriculum of the graduate application process, and support the development of competitive applications to PhD programs in psychology. Adolescent Psychology in France with Dr. Bonnie Klimes-Dougan!

Experience the vibrant charm of southern France while advancing your Psychology studies this Summer 2026. MONT 4303: Adolescent Psychology will be taught over a 4-week session by University of Minnesota Psychology faculty member Bonnie Klimes-Dougan, offering an immersive exploration of adolescent development through a cross-cultural lens. Set in Montpellier, a sun-soaked city known for its medieval streets, lively cafés, and Mediterranean energy, students will deepen their understanding of adolescent psychology while enjoying all that southern France offers. This course, taught in English, is approved as CPSY 4303 at UMN-TC and may be used in the Psychology Major. Questions about the program can be directed to Cassidy Nelson at [email protected].

PSY 5960 - Psychopathic Personality and Personality Disorders - 3 Credits - Spring 2026

  • Course Time: Fridays, 10:10 am - 12:40 pm (150 minutes)
  • Location: Elliott Hall, Room N639
  • Instructor: Robert Krueger

This course will provide an introduction and broad background on psychopathic personality and personality disorders (PDs), including their conceptualization, assessment, and classification. Students will learn about major classification systems for PDs, with a particular focus on emerging dimensional models in the DSM-5 and the ICD-11. We will cover both fundamental descriptive psychopathology (the ways in which these syndromes manifest in clinical settings), as well as information about how these syndromes are studied and current scientific understanding of their pathophysiology and etiology. A permission number is required to register. Undergraduate students should contact Psychology Advising at [email protected] to request a number. Students who register should have some background in psychopathology (PSY 3604) and research (PSY 3001W).

Serve as a Peer Reviewer with Minnesota Undergraduate Research and Academic Journal

Minnesota Undergraduate Research and Academic Journal (MURAJ) is looking for motivated undergraduate students to join our peer reviewer team for the 2025-26 year! You will review manuscripts of original research from your field and prepare them for publishing. Reviewers are expected to commit approximately 15 hours per semester for this position, including 1 hour, biweekly meetings. Reviewer commitments are expected to be highest around January. The application deadline is 11:59pm on Monday, November 3rd. This is a great way to get engaged in the research community at the U. The Collaboration for Psychological Wellness (CPW) is a mental health practice dedicated to serving college students, young adults, families, and marginalized communities through inclusive, culturally-responsive therapy. Their goal is to make mental health care more accessible and to ensure students and community members know these resources are available, especially during these tumultuous times. Internships at American Psychological Association - APA Advocacy Office

The Advocacy Office of the American Psychological Association represents the largest and most visible national presence advocating for psychology at the federal and state level. APA works with our members, coalition partners, Congress, and the Administration to pursue an advocacy agenda that includes critical policy issues that promote the discipline of psychology and the professions of psychologists in scientific, educational, public interest, health service practice and applied practice settings. We are seeking interns who will reside in the DMV (Washington DC area) for the duration of the internship to maximize their experience. This would allow for the intern to support and participate in functions in-person on Capitol Hill and APA Central Office. APA internships may be considered for remote work eligibility as defined in APA’s Flexible Work Policy and are subject to approval. Volunteer with the Aurora Center

The Aurora Center is an advocacy office on campus that serves victim survivors of sexual violence, relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment. The Aurora Center also offers volunteer opportunities at the University of Minnesota for full-time students, staff, or faculty that are focused on providing support to survivors and educating the campus. Applicants can either apply to be a Direct Service Advocate and help run our 24-hour helpline and support folks directly, or they can apply to be a Violence Prevention Educator and facilitate workshops on campus about consent, bystander intervention, toxic masculinity, supporting survivors and more. Applications are open from now until Monday, November 3rd. It is recommended that applicants apply early as volunteers will be accepted on a rolling basis.
