These individuals could need help in a wide range of areas: mental health, physical health, and other medical health issues are all things that fall under the umbrella of this career. Typically those who go on to become a rehabilitation specialist will specialize in one type of rehab aid to provide whether that be vocational rehab, mental health rehab, or cardiac rehab. People in this field assist individuals based on their specific needs and teach them the practical skills that will help with the re-acclimation process. Those in this role will work with a wide variety of people. Along with helping those in need reach their goals of having a successful life, rehabilitation specialists often have the responsibilities of conducting initial assessments and evaluations of patients, managing group contracts, and providing individual and group therapy sessions.
