Cate Crawford and Victoria Jaimes Win the 2025-2026 Mortensen Study Abroad Scholarship
Psychology majors Cate Crawford and Victoria Jaimes have been awarded the 2025-2026 Mortensen Study Abroad Scholarship.
Awarded to undergraduates pursuing psychology majors, the scholarship funds their international study for up to a year. While overseas, each student is expected to carry forward their academic work while continuing to build their skills in psychology. The award also provides students with opportunities to learn in new environments, gain global perspectives, and continue growing in the field beyond the classroom.
Cate Crawford (BA Spring ‘27) will study in Copenhagen through the Danish Institute for Study Abroad (DIS), a study abroad program in Denmark. While there, she will continue her psychology and criminology courses and learn alongside students from around the world. She shared that the scholarship helps ease the financial pressure of studying abroad and allows her to focus more fully on the experience.
Victoria Jaimes (BA Spring ‘28) heads to Madrid via the Psychology and Research in Madrid initiative. She will take courses in psychopathology, biological psychology, and intermediate Spanish II. In addition to her classes, she will work as a research assistant on the WellSpain Home-Study, a project that looks at how anxiety, depression, and other psychological factors affect how people experience pain.
