Christopher Federico and Andrew Oxenham Honored for Outstanding Contributions to Postgraduate and Professional Education in 2026.
Christopher M. Federico and Andrew J. Oxenham, faculty, have been selected for the prestigious University of Minnesota 2026 Outstanding Contribution to Graduate and Professional Education Award. This award holds immense significance at the University, reflecting the notable impact and crucial role the two have played in shaping the academic and professional paths of graduate students.
As a political psychologist, Federico’s research focuses on political attitudes, ideologies, and the process of making and receiving final decisions. Throughout his career, he has developed curricula that more effectively aids graduate students in conducting their research and analysis in the social sciences, in pursuit of their goals.
Oxenham is widely known for his research in auditory perception and neuroscience. His research is infused throughout his teaching and guidance of graduate students , facilitating his ability to help them understand and deeply grasp the complex aspects of auditory perception and cognition in order to build a solid foundation for future long-term research in the area.

Christopher M. Federico, PhD, is a Professor of Psychology and Political Science, the Arleen C. Carlson Professor of American Government and Politics, and Director of the Center for the Study of Political Psychology.
Andrew Oxenham, PhD, is a Distinguished McKnight University Professor in the Departments of Psychology and Otolaryngology, Director of the Auditory Perception and Cognition Lab, and Director of the Center for Applied and Translational Sensory Science (CATSS).
