Shayne Harms Awarded Honorable Mention from NSF
Join us in congratulating Shayne Harms, graduate student, who received honorable mention in 2026 by the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program. Harms is a first-year doctoral student in the Social area, co-advised by Jeff Simpson and Alex Rothman. Her research examines dyadic processes inherent to friendships and their impact on the health and well-being of each individual, as well as the friendship itself. The project she proposed for the NSF fellowship involves systematically examining the process by which individuals provide negative feedback to their friends.
