Vanessa Anyanso Awarded APA Division 35 Award for Feminist Research on the Well-being of Black Women

Vanessa Anyanso, graduate student, was awarded the Janet Hyde Graduate Research Student Award from Division 35 at APA 2025. This grant is given to doctoral students to support feminist research projects. Anyanso’s proposed project, “The Strong Black Woman schema and the psychological well-being of Black women across ethnic groups,” earned high praise from reviewers for its potential to provide valuable insights to the Society for the Psychology of Women and advance the field of feminist psychology.

 

 

Vanessa Anyanso, graduate student in counseling psychology in the Department of Psychology at the University of Minnesota. She is a member of the Familee Lab and is advised by Prof. Rich Lee.
