Psychology Advising Announcements
1. Research Contracts for PSY 4993/5993 enrollment
Students participating in a PSY 4993/5993 experience during Spring 2018 should complete and turn in the Undergraduate Research Contract before the drop-add deadline (this coming Monday, January 29th). Students participating in CPSY 4994 experiences who would like to receive credit towards their Psychology Major, must also have a Psychology Undergraduate Research Contract signed before the end of the day Monday.
Contracts submitted after this date will require college approval in order to receive credit for your work in the lab for Spring 2018. For more information on the Undergraduate Research Contract and earning credit for assisting in a research lab, please visit z.umn.edu/5993
PLEASE NOTE: the online contract is temporarily down. This semester, students need to turn in a paper copy of the research contract. Please print out the contract (available at z.umn.edu/5993) or stop by N108 Elliott Hall to pick one up.
2. Psychology & Research in Madrid Info Session - This Thursday!

Applications are now open for Summer 2018 and Fall 2018 Psychology & Research in Madrid! This unique program gives students the opportunity to study psychology and gain hands-on research experience, all the while experiencing the vibrant culture of Madrid - Spain's lively capital city! At this info session, you will learn more about the program and how it fits into your psychology major, receive practical information from the Learning Abroad Center Staff, and hear from past participants of the program. Dr. Jonathan Gewirtz, who led the program the past 3 summers, will also be there to answer questions.

3. Spring 2018 Internship? Consider PSY 3996: Psychology Internship Course
If you are planning to complete or interested in an Internship during Spring semester, you may be eligible to sign up for PSY 3996: Internship in Psychology (3 credits to count toward PSY Major Elective credit). In addition to your Internship Hours (average 6-8 hours/week for 15 weeks at your site), the PSY 3996 class meets weekly, Mondays -- 2:30pm - 4:00pm in Elliott N423. Instructor: Dr. Kelli Howard

Are you participating in an internship here or abroad this spring semester? Or engaging in a learning opportunity that takes you outside of the classroom for a unique experience? The Department of Psychology's Donor Awards for Psychology Undergraduate Engagement are available to support you! The purpose of these awards is to encourage and support psychology majors who engage in learning experiences beyond the University campus and classroom environments (i.e. unpaid internships, volunteer experiences, study abroad containing a psych-related internship or research component, etc.). Up to two awards of $500 will be offered for Spring 2018. Application deadline is February 14th, 2018. For details about the awards and application materials, visit our webpage. Research Lab Opportunities (for credit)
11. Undergraduate Research Opportunity at the Institute of Child Development
We are looking for responsible, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented students to work in Professor Glenn Roisman's Relationships Reseach Laboratory in the Spring of 2018 to help with data entry and transcription of interviews about participants' childhood experiences with their primary caregivers. Prospective undergraduate research assistants must be prepared to sign up for 3 credits (approximately 10 hours of work per week, including a flexible schedule and 1-2 weekly, hour-long lab meetings). Please contact Professor Roisman by email (roism001@umn.edu) if you are interested and indicate your availability for an informal, 15-minute interview in Professor Roisman's office at the Institute of Child Development (104A Child Psych). Professor Roisman asks that you bring along to your appointment with him your resume and a brief writing sample (no more than 1 page excerpt) from a college paper.

17. Part-time Mental Health Worker, Andrew Residence
Andrew Residence offers comprehensive long-term care, treatment, and rehabilitation services for adults experiencing mental illness. We currently have a part-time mental health worker opening to work within an interdisiplinary team providing casemanagement and supportive services. This is a 0.3 Part-time position (24 hours per 2-week pay period), including every other weekend. Schedule is: every other Saturday and Sunday Evening (3-11:30p), and either every other Monday or Friday Evening (3-11:30pm) TBD. Opportunity for picking up additional hours as your schedule allows.
Candidates must have completed at least 2 full years of college with at least 12 semester credits in the behavioral sciences, OR hold an associate's degree in behavioral sciences.
