Congratulations to RELS Faculty Members and Graduate Students

Congratulations to our affiliated faculty members and graduate students:

Professor David A. Chang (History) has been chosen by the Modern Language Association of America to receive the MLA Prize for Studies in Native American Literatures, Cultures, and Languages for his book, The World and All the Things upon It: Native Hawaiian Geographies of Exploration.

Professor J.B. Shank (History) received a National Endowment for the Humanities grant for his project, "Building a Digital Portal for Exploring Bernard and Picart’s Religious Ceremonies and Customs of the World."

Professor Sinem Casale (Art History), "Gifts in the Age of Empire: Ottoman-Safavid Cultural Exchange, 1500-1650" received a Grant-in-Aid

Graduate student affiliate, Kathryn Huether's (MA, musicology, advisee of Karen Painter) article titled “Did You Notice the Butterflies?: Behind the Headphones, Muted Memorializing and Curated Soundscapes at Treblinka” was accepted for the 2018 issue of Reflections, the Auschwitz Jewish Center's Annual Alumni Journal.

Professor Dean Billmeyer’s (organ) double CD entitled Straube Plays Bach was released on the Rondeau label (Leipzig Germany), and is also available on iTunes and Naxos.
