Funding Opportunities

Search Funding Databases Efficiently

The University Libraries offer search tools and resources regarding how to search for funding and how to utilize reference databases including Pivot, SPIN and the Foundation Directory Online (FDO).

Local Resources

UMN Internal Funding Opportunities are available through the Office of the Vice President for Research.

The Strategic Partnerships and Research Collaborative (SPARC): Supported by OVPR and GPSAlliance, SPARC engages researchers and practitioners across disciplines in the US and globally to establish new large-scale programs that catalyze collaboration, innovate for new discoveries, and deliver practical new solutions that address these critical challenges.

COVID-19 Related Research or Programming

U of M Foundation Central Corporate & Foundation Relations's Central team tracks funding announcements related to COVID-19 and is adding RFPs aligned with UMN research and programs to this list on a daily basis.

Grants.gov

Grants.gov is a web-based single submission portal developed by the federal government. It provides a database of most federal grant opportunities. It also provides a mechanism for applying for federal programs. It is, however, a good idea to check an organization's own website as well. The following are links to funding opportunities from federal organizations.
