Zoom webinar: A Know Your Rights Workshop with University of Minnesota Student Legal Services in partnership with the Institute for Advanced Study and RIDGS

In response to questions and concerns raised during the RIDGS Town Hall on January 22, staff from University Student Legal Service (SLS) will offer a session dedicated to issues impacting students, including explaining what to expect when setting up a consultation and the role SLS can play in addressing problems and questions around immigration documentation, creating a specific-to-your-situation plan for encountering immigration enforcement officers, and tenant rights.

  • What to do and how to respond to encounters with law enforcement
  • Rights and responsibilities as a renter
  • What to know before signing a lease
  • How to read a lease
  • And more

All students and anyone serving in any type of student support role are invited to attend.

If you are comfortable doing so, we encourage you to submit any questions you have in the event registration form to increase the likelihood that we can address it during the presentation.
