About the Speaker
Dr. James studies racial and socioeconomic disparities in health behaviors in the United States. Using a life course and developmental perspective, she describes how these patterns originate in childhood, consider how acutely stressful experiences contribute to differences, and evaluate the consequences of differences in health behavior for subsequent health and wellbeing.
