Scholarships are awarded without regard to religious affiliation, gender, sexuality, race, or citizenship status. In 2025, we are delighted to name four remarkable individuals as our 2025 Hawkinson Scholars. You can get to know Roseline Ameyaw, Christopher Robertson, Milky Osmon, and Emmanuel Alade.
Christopher Robertson (he/him) is a PhD candidate in Sociology at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, focusing on the health and community safety impacts of systemic racism. His dissertation, Covenanted-Policing: Policing, Spatial Racism, and Health (In)Equity in Minneapolis, examines how historic race-based housing discrimination shapes current policing practices and neighborhood health. Chris’s research aims to create safe, flourishing communities. He previously worked with the Minnesota Justice Research Center (MNJRC), co-authoring a report that helped prevent white supremacist group members from becoming licensed police officers in Minnesota. He has also evaluated local programs, including a community-led first-responder initiative and a hospital-based violence intervention program.
Congratulations, Christopher!
