As a mirror of internal social demands for development of independent national cultures within a region often afflicted by political unrest and conflicting paradigms of internationally driven global systems, these three-weeks conferences, organized by the Impact of Globalization in Latin American Discourses Spanish and Portuguese Fall 2020 course, bring together the voices of young University of Minnesota researchers as well as the experience of seasoned distinguished writers from Latin America, and the USA. The social energy of this collectivity will explore the literary works of Mayra Santos-Febres (Puerto Rico), Rubén Sánchez (Dominican Republic), Percy Encinas (Perú), José de Piérola (Perú), and Luis F. Paredes (USA-Perú).
