Celebrating Our Students: The Future of Statistics
As another academic year comes to a close, we want to extend our congratulations to all of our graduating undergraduate students! Your hard work, resilience, and dedication have officially paid off.
The Class of 2026 is leaving the University of Minnesota well-equipped to make a profound impact on the world. The entire department is incredibly proud of what you have accomplished during your time here, and we thank you for your immense dedication to our community.
"Reflecting on my time at the University of Minnesota, I've realized how kind, determined, and understanding everyone is; we are all working through our own challenges, yet we've formed tight-knit communities to pursue our dreams together," says Tasbiha Majumdar, who is graduating with a BS in Statistical Science.
Inspired by a favorite quote from BTS—“If the plan doesn’t work, change the plan, but never the goal”—Tasbiha credits much of her academic growth and enjoyment at the university to her instructor, HJ (Hyun Jung (HJ) KooPhD Candidate - Statistics). Looking ahead, she aims to channel that resilience into a career in health or data science. "My immediate goal is to build hands-on experience before heading to graduate school to pursue a degree in Biostatistics. Ultimately, I hope to become a biostatistician."
To our graduates: thank you for bringing your energy, intelligence, and passion to our classrooms. As you step out into the next chapter of your journeys, remember that you always have a home here at the U of M.
Ski-U-Mah, and congratulations!
