UMTAD Design & Technology Students Shine at USITT and T3 Theatre Technology Tournament

March was an exciting and enriching month for the Design & Technology students at UMTAD as they traveled to the annual United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) Conference

Among the many highlights of their USITT experience, the students participated in the T3 Theatre Technology Tournament, a fast-paced competition testing their expertise in rigging, lighting, sound, and scenic technology. Demonstrating both technical precision and creative problem-solving, the team excelled under pressure, earning recognition for their skill and teamwork.

Beyond the competition, attending USITT provided students with invaluable learning experiences—from hands-on workshops and panel discussions to networking with industry leaders and potential employers. The conference served as an inspiring reminder of the vast possibilities within the field of theatrical design and technology.

Congratulations to the UMTAD Design & Technology students Neil Standerwick, Evelyn Kelly, Vida Randall, Sam Peper, Lizzy Rooney, and Ei Malachite Calson for an outstanding showing at USITT and T3!
