Alina Mervis (MA/PhD)

Alina Mervis is a PhD student of Theatre Arts and Dance at the University of Minnesota. She hails from Ukraine, but has also lived, studied and worked in London, UK, Budapest, Hungary, Berlin, Germany, New York City, and Moscow, Russia. Alina received her BA in Theatre at Bates College, ME and her MA in Theatre and Performance Studies at Washington University in St Louis. Coming from a performance background and having been exposed to multiple cultures, she now explores the potential that participatory and immersive theatre and art hold for social change.
