Briana Beeman's research focuses on theatre and performance in response to United States colonialism and imperialism, especially from the Puerto Rican diaspora. She is interested in how Western theatre conventions and practices reinscribe imperialist ideology and colonial harm, as well as the role of feminist theory and allyship in dismantling these practices. Briana is a proud graduate of Michigan State University and its Honors College with a BA in Theatre and a minor in Women's & Gender Studies.
