Jacob Rorem (MA/PhD)
Broadly, Jacob’s research focuses on ways performance engages with the places we inhabit, with a particular interest in how landscapes are produced, conceived of, naturalized, and linked to community identity and history. Areas of interest include site-specific theatre, theatre and ecology, historical pageants, industrial musicals, and creative placemaking. Jacob holds a MA from the University of Oregon and a BA from Whitworth University, both in Theatre. As a practitioner, his experience is primarily in acting and children’s theatre, but he has also worked as a dramaturg, walking tour guide, and one very brief stint as a clown.
