Impact for Communities
UMAC helps nonprofit organizations, social enterprises, and public institutions strategically tap talent to expand capacity and deepen impact in addressing our community’s pressing needs.
UMAC fellows bring relevant experience in key areas such as marketing, IT, HR, operations, and management. Over their careers, encore adults developed people skills, organizational management, project leadership, and relational skills that are needed in the social sector.
As they deepen their understanding of their host organization’s mission, purpose, and impact, they may also form lasting ties, continuing to contribute beyond the fellowship semester.
Impact for Employers
UMAC is a worthwhile alternative to traditional retirement for employees who still have much to contribute to communities. With UMAC, progressive employers can offer the structure and practical experiences to transition experienced employees into new roles that align with community civic engagement priorities.
UMAC helps employers build on existing community civic engagement efforts by redeploying skilled employees into social impact work, amplifying financial investments with talent investments in communities.
Such efforts pay dividends in terms of employee engagement, as well as community engagement and public service, complementing existing corporate efforts to address social needs with an infusion of talent.
