Jan. 22 - May 15, 2019
You gain practical experience by working on a project in a nonprofit organization, volunteering your time and applying your talents in new ways while expanding your understanding of the social sector.
Your time commitment in the spring will depend on your preferences and what you want to get out of the experience. You may decide to work on a project that has considerable flexibility (or even a virtual opportunity). Alternatively, you may choose to volunteer regular hours in a structured volunteer experience.
We anticipate that fellows will spend about 10 hours a week working on a project in the spring, but there is flexibility. You will return regularly to the University of Minnesota in the spring (either in person or virtually) to share and reflect on your experience.
This hands-on involvement allows you to leverage your skills to make a difference even as you gain valuable experience in social impact work.
