Why did you choose to major in English?

I’ve always loved to read. Plus, after meeting several English students and hearing about the many job opportunities that are open to English majors, it seemed like a perfect fit.

What is a favorite book you read for an English class?

Bram Stoker’s Dracula, for ENGL 3001W. It was just a blast to discuss in class and probably the easiest paper I’ve ever written.

What English course would you recommend for majors? For non-majors who want to take an English class?

For both it would be the class AAS/ENGL 4232: “American Drama by Writers of Color” with English Professor Josephine Lee. The discussions are very engaging and honestly feel like a book club!

What is your favorite thing about Pillsbury Hall?

Pillsbury is a beautiful building, but I really love the third-floor English major study space. It’s a great spot to hang out between classes to read or work on assignments.
