How can you help?

There are many ways to help the history department. We are always looking for volunteers to help mentor students, work on projects or give time in any way they can. If you would like to donate your time and energy, please contact the department at history@umn.edu with the subject line "Volunteering for History" to get more information on how you can help.

At the same time, in order to remain competitive, we need your support for undergraduate scholarships, graduate fellowships, and funds to allow us to make strategic investments to ensure our department’s future.

Choose a Fund

History General Fund

This fund allows the department to make key strategic investments in high-priority areas when opportunities and critical needs arise. Last year, we used funds to host events, support graduate students, and fund faculty research.

Sara Evans Fellowship in Women’s History

Carrying on the legacy of Professor Emerita Sara Evans, this fellowship supports outstanding graduate students in women’s history.

History Day Mentoring Scholarship

Provides scholarships to undergraduate students who serve as History Day mentors in local middle and high school classrooms helping younger students develop the strong research and literacy skills necessary for college.

Your gift can help support the next generation of leaders and thinkers.  Thank you for your support!
