Meet the 19-20 American Studies Graduate Cohort!
The Department of American Studies is pleased to announce our 2019-2020 American Studies Graduate Cohort. This year, we are proud to be the recipients of the Creating Inclusive Cohorts (CIC) Fellowship through the Graduate School Diversity Office. Each of these students has research that focuses on Critical Indigeneous Studies.
As an undergraduate, Hilary Abe (B.A. Dartmouth College) majored in Native American Studies, with a concentration in Film Studies.
Jonathan Borja double majored in Speech Pathology & Audiology and Social Welfare & Justice at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Lennixx-Nickolai Bad Moccasin is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. He attended the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities where he double-majored in Studies in Cinema & Media Culture and American Indian Studies, with a Creative Writing minor and an emphasis on Dakota language.
Ashton Dunkley attended Temple University where she double-majored in History and Anthropology and earned a minor in Italian.
Kaylen James graduated with a BA in American Studies and an MA in Organizational Leadership, Policy and Development, both from the University of Minnesota.
