Kristen Reynolds

Portrait of Kristen Reynolds

Kristen Reynolds studies the role that the Black speculative plays in decentering the human in dominant technologies. She’s especially invested in considering the ways that Afropessimist and Black Feminist theories of the human and Afrofuturist interrogations of being shift our understanding of dominant digital technologies and who those technologies are built to serve. Her work currently explores datafication, cryptocurrency, blockchain, and surveillance. She is published in Fiyah Literary Magazine and continues to explore opportunities to place her creative and academic work in conversation.
