Mary Marchan

Mary Marchan is a thinker, forever-amatuer, and a queer Bisayan Filipino-American born and raised in San Diego, California. She holds an MA in Women’s Studies from San Diego State University, and is a PhD candidate in American Studies at the University of Minnesota. Her ethnographic research focuses on the everyday experiences of kinship and tomboy masculinites on Siquijor Island, Philippines. Her research interests include post-colonial, decolonial, feminist, queer, and critical race theory. In her free time, she loves boxing, spending time with her family, and bothering her dog, Frida.
