Kayla Jackson is an archivist and a scholar who has dedicated years to expanding the historical record of predominately Black communities. Her work focuses on processing and digitizing materials, managing online databases, and forging community partnerships and engagement. She has worked as an archivist at the Strong Museum of Play, in the Local History and Genealogy Division at the Rochester Public Library, and as a Project Archivist under a Henry Luce grant at the Cary Graphic Arts Collection. She is also the Founding Archivist of the Hallie Q. Brown Community Archives, a community-based archive centering a predominately Black community, in St. Paul, Minn.
