Mark joined the Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication faculty full-time in 2018. He joined after 35 years of building brands at ad agencies in Chicago and Minneapolis. He has led marketing communication efforts for an all-star list of companies like Andersen Windows, Catholic Health Initiatives, ConAgra, General Mills, HealthPartners, Johnsonville Sausage, Kraft, Land 'O Lakes, Marvin Windows, Medtronic, Pillsbury, Polaris, and Tropicana. Prior to joining HSJMC, he served as VP-Account Director at Preston Kelly in Minneapolis. His other agency experience includes Campbell-Mithun and Martin/Williams in Minneapolis and Leo Burnett and Foote, Cone & Belding in Chicago.

Mark had also been an adjunct instructor here at the University of Minnesota for 15 years, teaching the capstone course Strategic Communication Campaigns (Jour 4263).
