Richard Lim is an incoming first year Ph.D student in American Studies at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. A recent Masters in Arts graduate of San Francisco State University’s Asian American Studies department, his research projects link how social movements around hate violence, violence prevention, and political participation reproduce problems associated with liberal governance. In addition, he has, since its inception, collaborated as a researcher at Stop AAPI Hate and the newly formed Asian American Research Initiative at San Francisco State, where he has co-authored articles published in the Asian American Policy Review and Ethnic Studies Review. He received his bachelor’s degree in History and a minor in Asian American and Asian Diaspora Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, graduating magna cum laude.
