Share one thing you wish you'd known about law school as an undergrad.

Law school is much more of a time investment than undergrad - while most of your friends will be working full-time jobs and having evenings and weekends free, you will have to sacrifice that time studying. School-life balance will become crucial to your wellbeing.

How did you choose your law school?

I was looking for a school that was financially feasible, academically challenging and invested in my success as a student. I ended up being between the UMN Law School and another school, but the particularized attention I received from the UMN team was unparalleled. Multiple calls, emails, and meetings with UMN to make sure I ended up at the best law school for me was what ultimately made me choose the UMN Law School.

What advice do you have for students/recent alums as they begin the application process?

Start early! Even if its just brainstorming or outlining your personal statements, make sure you are starting the application process at least 6 months before when you want to apply. Not to say you can't successfully apply with less time, it'll just be more stressful. Also, take advantage of free resources if your school provides them.
