Jacob’s research interests include human-environment systems, transportation & mobility, urban socioeconomics, renewable energy, and sustainability as analyzed through spatial statistics, econometric modeling, and GeoAI. His current projects with the Geospatial Data Intelligence (GeoDI) Lab investigate the relationship between carbon emissions and human mobility data. Prior to joining the GeoDI lab, he earned his MS in Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota where he researched topics in climate economics with the NatCap TEEMs lab group such as integrated assessment modeling and natural capital accounting.
